Frequently asked questions

Is SavDown free?

Yes. SavDown is completely free. The service is funded by advertising displayed on the site, which never interferes with the download buttons.

Do I need to install an app or create an account?

No. SavDown works directly in your web browser. You do not need an app, an extension or a Facebook login.

Can I download private Facebook videos?

No. SavDown only works with public videos. Videos shared privately, in closed groups or restricted to friends cannot be downloaded, in order to respect the privacy of their authors.

Where are the downloaded videos saved?

On a computer, videos go to your Downloads folder. On Android, they appear in the Downloads folder or Gallery. On iPhone, they are saved in the Files app, in the Downloads folder.

Can I download Facebook Reels?

Yes. Copy the link of the public Reel and paste it into SavDown, exactly like a normal video.

What video quality can I get?

SavDown offers the qualities made available by Facebook: usually HD (720p or 1080p) and SD (360p or 480p). If a video was uploaded in low resolution, HD may not be available.

Why does the download fail?

The most common reasons are a private video, a deleted video, an incorrect link or a temporary change on Facebook's side. Check that the video is public and try again a few minutes later.

Do you keep a copy of the videos?

No. Videos are never stored on our servers. The file is transferred directly from Facebook's servers to your device.

Is it legal to download Facebook videos?

Downloading for personal, private use is often tolerated, but you are responsible for respecting copyright and Facebook's terms. Always ask the owner for permission before reusing or republishing a video.

How can I contact you?
